We welcome kids ages 7 to 12 to join us for a five-day camp featuring hands-on, seasonal cooking! We will focus on following recipes, classic techniques, presentation, working cleanly and safely in the kitchen, and exploring new foods and flavors. All recipes will be measured ahead of time so we can focus on the techniques, but proper measuring practices will be covered in class.
Day 1: Picnic in the Park
- Grilled Chicken BLT Wraps with Fresh Herb Aioli
- Greek Orzo Summer Salad
- Blueberry and Lemon Oat Crumble Bars
Day 2: Fun at the Fair
- Elotes (Mexican Street Corn with Mayo, Lime, Chili and Cheese)
- Doner Kebab Pitas with Yogurt-Tahini Sauce, Tomatoes and Romaine
- Cream Puffs (Profiteroles Filled with Whipped Cream)
Day 3: Day at the Beach
- Caprese Pasta Salad with Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella and Basil
- Smoked Turkey and Gouda Cheese Panini with Pesto Mayo
- Raspberry-Nectarine Hand Pies
Day 4: Backyard BBQ
- Bacon-Avocado Burgers with Cheddar Cheese
- Creamy Potato Salad with Fresh Dill
- S’mores Brownies with Toasted Marshmallows
Day 5: Taste of Chicago
- BBQ Ribs with Skillet Mac-n-Cheese
- Individual Chicago Deep Dish Pizzas
- Vanilla Cheesecake Squares with Strawberry Sauce
