Fire up the grill and get ready to think like a burger scientist in this hands-on outdoor class. In this class, you’ll explore two iconic styles of burgers—crispy, lacy-edged smash burgers and thick, juicy pub-style burgers—to understand what makes each one unique. You’ll learn how fat content, seasoning, heat and cooking method all affect texture and flavor, while mastering essential grilling techniques for building better burgers at home. From forming and smashing patties to managing heat and achieving the perfect sear, this class is equal parts technique and delicious experimentation.
Grilling classes take place outdoors on our patio and are therefore subject to weather cancellation. In the event of a cancellation, all participants will be emailed no later than 8pm the day before the class (for morning classes) and 2pm (for evening classes) on the day of the class.

In this hands-on class, students will be paired in groups of three to five and work together as a team to prepare the recipes.
